About Linda Cabrera
It is all in the detail. My work is a combination of realism and folk art, showing the laid back and colorful island life in which I was raised. I strive to add energy to my paintings by including people, animals, birds, that are all a part of my Conch upbringing. I not only endeavor to portray my life as a child growing up in Key West, but also the island as it exists today through the eyes of the many people who visit throughout the year. Linda, I saw your sloppy joes sale and had to jump into your gallery. I'm a key west conch and I can't tell you how exciting it was to see all of the places I knew so well on the pages of your gallery. We were just there on thanksgiving. My how things have changed. We revisited all of my old haunts, my home where I grew up on Venetia st. My grandparents home on flagler, the beaches I could walk to. You have depicted places I remember so well. I'm putting you on my watch list so I don't miss a thing. congratulations on your sale and this gorgeous painting.
