Description
Pizios Drive Inn was a very popular teen hang-out in Key West in the 50s and 60s. It was reminiscent of the way it was everywhere in those times, when teen life was simpler, when it involved good old rock 'n roll music, dancing, fun cars, and just hanging out with friends. I hear many enjoyable personal stories from Conchs (name for those born and raised in Key West) that remember their many fun times hanging out at Pizio's, making it one of my favorite paintings. Many memories!

Thanks Sharon. Wow Jed, you have given me the most incredible compliment. George Carey was just amazing! I'm glad to hear I captured it because I don't really remember Pizio's. I saw photos and just listened to lots of stories and imagined how it must've been and went from there. Thank you so much!

Linda you have captured the Pizio's that I remember perfectly, I spent many nights cruising Pizio's in my teen years growing up in Key West, your painting brings back those special memories. I have the original painting that George Carey painted of Pizio's, your paintings fit into that category of the special Key West artist.
