Artist's Description
Boca Chica Bar was located in Key West. It was very popular nightspot in that it was the only bar that never closed! This was the place to go after all the other fun spots in Key West closed for those that weren�t ready for the party to end. It closed many years ago.
About Linda Cabrera
It is all in the detail. My work is a combination of realism and folk art, showing the laid back and colorful island life in which I was raised. I strive to add energy to my paintings by including people, animals, birds, that are all a part of my Conch upbringing. I not only endeavor to portray my life as a child growing up in Key West, but also the island as it exists today through the eyes of the many people who visit throughout the year. In my latest work, you will see Key West as it was long-ago. In walking the neighborhoods I am reminded of how things once were.
